Stuffy Nose
Rough night last night for Dot. I think she has a stuffy nose. Mine isn’t all that great, either.

Rough night last night for Dot. I think she has a stuffy nose. Mine isn’t all that great, either.
We aren’t getting flu shots here. And Dot was actually sick for the first time a few weeks ago, if you call five days of a stuffy and runny nose sick! Poor girl had trouble sleeping because of it which made her even grumpier. The rest of the family was sick, too. But we made it through.
Dot’s new word today is “egg”. She started saying it when I gave her one for breakfast, she said it some more when she picked up a toy Easter egg, and kept saying and pointing at the word when Grandma read Green Eggs And Ham to her this morning.
Everyone seems to be feeling better this morning. Dot actually fell asleep EARLY last night, and slept really well all night long.
We had a rough night with Dot waking up screaming every couple of hours. I think she would sleep a lot better if she’d allow a blanket to cover her!
Dot had a runny nose today. I think she was a bit stuffy last night which might have contributed to the sleep issues. She had trouble during her nap, too, since she coughed when she laid down. She has been pretty grumpy all day long.
We got her new Crayola Tadoodles markers today. I knew she’d get them all over, but I didn’t know the ink would come out quite so fast. The tip is built like a bingo dauber. True to their word, however, they washed right off. And she had her hands coated, and some on her face, too. I’m surprised she didn’t try to lick them, it could have been much worse! We like them a lot!
I had video of her trying the new markers and pictures of her artwork over the last month, as well as videos of her outside and a bunch of food pictures. Then the camera came up with a format error and I’ve lost everything. Apparently this is a common occurrence, according to other reviews I’ve read. I’m getting it returned before I lose something more important. Thank goodness I cleaned the camera out when I did. Just say NO to Sony Webbie!
ETA: Here are some pictures of her and the markers a couple of weeks later.
We had a long day trip into town for car repair and shopping. Dot was very well behaved in the car, but an absolute nightmare all the time she was home today. She kept whining and crying and we couldn’t figure out what she wanted, except to get up onto the table and play with my phone, both of which she isn’t allowed to do.
She enjoyed her new Melissa & Doug Crayons, and can even put them back into the case. These are so much better than the Tadoodles; although they aren’t big and round, they are big and triangular and she can grab onto them quite well, and as her grip develops it will help shape it into the proper tripod grip for writing. They are very durable and survived a great deal of poking, banging, throwing, and even a little bit of chewing. Apparently they aren’t nearly as tasty as the Crayola crayons! She also liked her new Crayola Tadoodles stamps. Tomorrow we’ll be getting the markers!
