Dot's Spot

For the past couple of days Dot has wandered around the house going, “Huuuhhh. Huuuuuhhhh. Huuuuhhhh.” I guess that is her new syllable to add to mama, nana, and baba. She hasn’t said hi in a long time, now.

Dot was having fun tearing around Staples while we had her announcements printed. It is nice and open with a carpeted floor so she could really get going. She took the time to flirt with all of the employees. Afterwards she ate an entire Crystal Cheeseburger by herself!

I carry Dot around in a backpack carrier a few times a day and she loves the ride. I have some small fabric bags that I use to carry her toys in, and this morning she picked one up, put her arm through one handle, brought it around behind her back, and stuck her other arm through the second loop. She got a big grin, put her hands on the straps, and walked around like she had her own backpack! By the time I got over the shock it was too late for a picture, because she’d taken an arm out already. Maybe I should try to find a little one for her birthday!

Dot is big enough to get her own meal when we go out to eat now. She ate about half of the meat from an Arby’s sandwich for lunch. She also tried a couple tastes of turkey ham from her Grandma, and even ate a couple of bits of roasted chicken from dinner. I’d say she got her protein today!

Bobby spent the day cleaning off the back porch area and installing some carpet. He got it all put together and it looks beautiful. While I was busy with dinner, he watched Dot figure out how to step over the doorjamb. She practiced for about twenty minutes, tripping a few times but kept going in and out until she was comfortable. This will be a great area to get some fresh air and a little bit of sun!
